Company Description ESRI is a financially secure, closely held, private corporation, maintaining a posture of zero debt for over 35 years. The company currently employs more than 2,100 people in the United States. Regional offices are maintained in the metropolitan areas of Redlands, California; Denver, Colorado; Boston, Massachusetts; Minneapolis, Minnesota; St. Louis, Missouri; New York, New York; Charlotte, North Carolina; San Antonio, Texas; Olympia, Washington; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Washington, D.C. We also have numerous satellite offices across the country. In addition, ESRI has a network of more than 70 international distributors supporting customers in over 200 countries, territories, and colonies around the world.
Our goal is to support new as well as existing customers in the design, development, and implementation of geographic-based information management systems, and we employ a carefully chosen group of select professionals who are dedicated to ensuring the success of GIS at our user sites. The Professional Services Division at ESRI includes the technical, management, and administrative staff required to provide GIS support services to a broad range of user agencies throughout the world. The technical staff is comprised of consulting, data conversion, and programming experts with extensive experience in GIS and IT domains. These areas include systems engineering, geodesy, cartography, computer science, operations research, logistics and transportation management, business management, utilities and facilities management, planning, land surveying, terrain modeling and analysis, geology, hydrology, forest science, and many others. Most staff members hold advanced degrees and also have in-depth understanding of our software, direct access to the software development staff, and practical experience in integrating ESRI software with related technologies. This broad, collective experience, we believe, distinguishes ESRI in the GIS industry.
ESRI also offers a Systems Integration team that provides system design, installation, and integration services in conjunction with hardware vendors. The Technical Support Group is staffed by experienced analysts who work closely with our programming staff to assist users with questions regarding software functionality and geoprocessing procedures. This group responds to approximately 67,000 calls a year, supporting the installation and maintenance of software, assisting in solving problems arising from the use of the software, hardware interfacing of peripheral devices, and logging enhancement requests and bugs submitted by our users. Educational Services offers a wide range of courses, from introductory to advanced levels that help our users become proficient using the various software applications we develop. Our instructors conduct more than 2000 classes a year.
